Temporal Lobe Epilepsy
Temporal lobe epilepsy can be characterized as a simple or partial seizure without loss of consciousness or complex partial seizures. Loss of awareness occurs when there’s a complex partial seizure proliferates on both temporal lobes.
Epidemiology
This condition usually originates in the temporal lobe but the real cause of this type of epilepsy is not yet determined.
Presentation
As you know, aura take place in the peak of the seizure of temporal lobe. In general, auras as well as automatism may last for seconds to minutes. Auras can cause sensory, psychic or autonomic symptoms.
Special sensory and somatosensory phenomena
Gustatory illusions, auditory, hallucinations and oldfactory may also occur.
